As you can see, there are two special readings. On October 14th, David Howard will be reading a selection of poems by the late John O’Connor, and the following week will be my turn to read poems by Helen Bascand. I think it’s a lovely gesture that the CPC have made, asking us to read for these two much-missed stalwarts of the Canterbury poetry scene. Both will be quite moving events.
Once again, the venue is the CPIT Imagetech Lecture theatre, and finding it couldn’t be simpler:
- Go through the main doors, into the Rakaia Centre. (Big building.)
- Turn right, down the corridor. (Lots of glass windows and walls.)
- Take three paces, and turn left. (Away from the windows.)
- Go through the door. (Open it first.)
So there you have it. Now you know what you’ll be doing on Wednesday nights through October and November!
